Film Comics. These
are basically color manga made entirely of cel setups (i.e., there's no
additional art beyond that in the film), with the complete dialog for the film
(sometimes minus an occasional background line) in the word balloons for the
manga (as well as overlays of the usual manga sound effect words). The volumes
contain 143-144 pages each. See also the Perfect Edition
set released in 2000.

New printing
using the original 35mm film elements. Contains 50 percent more pages than
the original (1997) four-volume set of film comics; thus,
additional dialogue and many more cel setups have been included that were
omitted from the 1997 set. The color and sharpness of the images are also
noticeably improved. The first four volumes contain 170 pages each, and
the fifth contains 178 pages.

Ghibli, detailing the three-year process of making the movie. There is also a
section about how CG was used in Mononoke Hime. 223 pages. |
