Number 88 - Cutting is finished!

Today, the cutting of rolls five and six finished without a hitch.

The final length of the film is 110 minutes for the main feature on its own.
At the start, I was told by Producer Suzuki [to bring it in] "...at an overall length of 90 minutes!" So my yardstick has stretched a bit. But we were able to keep it down under two hours.

As we went into the final cutting, for a while even I felt an unusual tension.
But now I feel like that tension has suddenly disappeared.
It is not as if all the images are finished yet, and the main bulk of the sound work is yet to come, but I feel relief at having crossed one mountain.
