The following was first posted to the Miyazaki ML by F畸io Martins.

The URL of the dubbing studio page is http://www.dublanews.art.br/news.htm

Just for the records: the brazilian portuguese dub of Mononoke Hime is
already completed. The title was translated as "A Menina Lobo" ("The Wolf
Girl"... argh).

The dubbing studio page (where this info is posted) warns parents that:

"Brazilian children will get some frights because, in some scenes, the movie
is scary, and certainly will offend some of the more sensible stomachs
because of the realism of scenes that are - in our opinion - perfectly
dispensable, like a woman that sucks blood from the foot of a person who
gets woundes and the worms that fall from the mouth of a boar. This is the
warning to parents of children under 10: they may get more scared than
amused."

Looks like they're gonna sell it as a children's movie. Then again, rules
for this sort of thing are much more lighter in Brazil. Of course, since
they're only making the dubbing, they might not know everything about this.

They got a very good cast of voice actors. I could recognize some of the
best professional dubbers in Brazil in the list, particularly the one who
was casted as San, who is probably THE best in the business.

There's no info as to when it will start playing in the movies, but one
might guess it won't take long.

Bye,
