December 27, 2001 Amazon.com and R1 DVD Pre-orders
The existence of pre-order pages for "My Neighbor Totoro" and "Castle in the Sky" on Amazon.com (noted and discussed on the MML a few weeks ago) reached Slashdot yesterday.
You can enter an pre-order for the DVDs, which means Amazon.com will notify you when they actually become available.
December 23, 2001 "Totoro" One of Ebert's "Great Movies"
"My Neighbor Totoro" is now part of Roger Ebert's "Great Movies" list. His review for the film is located here.
"Grave of the Fireflies" was selected as a Great Movie in March 2000.

December 14, 2001 Toho Announces Next Theaterical Ghibli Films

Toho has annouced that it will release "Neko no Ongaeshi (A Cat Returning Favor)", a film by Ghibli, next summer.
It is a story about Muta the cat (the fat cat in "Whisper of the Heart") and Baron (the cat Baron in "Whisper"). They try to rescue a girl, Haru, who wonders into the world of cats.
It is an adventure fantasy, and directed by Hiroyuki Morita, who is 37 year old.
Toho also announced that it will release "Howl's Moving Castle" in the summer of 2003. It is produced by Ghibli and directed by Mamoru Hosoda, who is 33 year old.

December 10, 2001 "Porco Rosso" Next Ghibli Film on DVD
Amazon Japan is reporting that "Porco Rosso" is scheduled for release on March 8, 2002.
