This album features 16 theme songs of Ghibli films: Nausicaä, Laputa, Grave of the Fireflies, Totoro, Kiki, Only Yesterday, Porco Rosso, Ocean Waves, Pom Poko, Whisper of the Heart, On Your Mark, and Princess Mononoke.

It comes with a 16-page booklet with the lyrics of the songs and small pictures from each films. The Kiki opening theme featured here is the "full" version of the original (1970s) Yumi ARAI song, while in the movie and the Kiki soundtrack the second half of the song was faded off.

Super Bit Mapping and the Pure Digital Link System were used to improve the sound quality of the new recordings.

A special version was released during its first press. It comes with a cloth case with a vinyl case cover, a picture CD, and a 32-page booklet.

A boxset with 10 CDs and 1 bonus CD Single (24K Gold). The 10 CDs are the soundtracks of Nausicaä, Laputa, Grave of the Fireflies, Totoro, Kiki, Only Yesterday, Porco Rosso, Ocean Waves, Pom Poko, and Whisper of the Heart.

The CD single contains the original version of "Le Temps Des Cerises" (the song Gina sang in Porco Rosso) sung by French vocalist Jack Lantier (Porco was listening to this song on the radio at the beginning of the film), a poem-song from Kiki's Delivery Service which is not commercially available before, and the soundtracks of Nandaro and Sorairo no Tane.

It comes with a leaflet which introduces all CDs Ghibli has ever released, and a set of A4 posters with each film's information printed on the reverse. Each disk also comes with a newly designed jacket.

Technologies known as Super Bit Mapping and the Pure Digital Link System were used to improve the sound quality of these new recordings.
