Originally broadcast as the final episode of the second LUPIN III TV Series (1977-1980), Tokyo Movie Shinsa, the producing studio, gave Japan's top theatrical animation director - Hayao Miyazaki - carte blanche in order to let the series go out with a bang. The result is the essence of the wit and cleverness of LUPIN III distilled into one superb effort.
