Conan and Lana, the main characters in Conan: The Boy in Future (未来少年コナン Mirai Shōnen Konan?), are often considered prototypes of Laputa's Pazu and Sheeta.
The official English title (from the Japanese creators) for this TV series is Conan: The Boy in Future, though this is an inaccurate English rendition of the Japanese title. Anime fans usually call this series Future Boy Conan, which is much easier to remember and say.
There is a sequel, Future Boy Conan II: River Adventure (未来少年コナンII タイガアドベンチャー Mirai Shōnen Konan Ni: Taiga Adobenchā?) but it does not have any Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli involvement.
