Even More Ponyo US Release Details

The Anime News Network (by way of Nikkei Financial News) is reporting Disney will release Ponyo in the US this summer. As noted earlier Frankie Jonas is Sosuke and Noah Cyrus is Ponyo. For those not up with the kids these days Frankie is the little brother of the Disney boy band trio Jonas Brothers and Noah is the little sister of Miley Cyrus (aka Disney's Hannah Montana). Continuing with the Disney dub tradition several big Hollywood names are slated to appear. Based on the names in the cast list and what their voices sound like we're guessing:

  • Matt Damon: Koichi
  • Tina Fey: Risa
  • Cate Blanchett: Granmamare
  • Liam Neeson: Fujimoto

More English Cast Details for Ponyo

IMDB is listing some of the voice actors but only one is listed with a role. Assuming the information is correct, it's likely from their ages that Noah Cyrus will be Ponyo, and Frankie Jonas will be Sosuke. They're both eight, and the role of Kumiko (the only other child character with dialogue) is assigned to Madison Davenport.
