Ponyo US Release Date and Title Set

Animation World Magazine is reporting an August 14 release date for the film. The title has been shortened to simply "Ponyo".

Spirited Away on UK TV

BBC Four is airing Spirited Away at 22:00 on Saturday, March 28.

Studio Ghibli Documentaries, Nishi Ghibli Location, Ponyo US Screen Count

Walt Disney Studio Home Entertainment announced two June 10 releases:

• "The Scenery of Ghibli" - Contains two programs, "Japan which Miyazaki work drew" (95 minutes) and "European trip to meet Miyazaki work" (85 minutes). Blu-ray: VWBS1075 (¥5800) DVD: VWDZ8124 (¥4700)
• "Toshio Suzuki's Ghibli Asemamire 99 words" - DVD contains 49 guest interviews and runs over 40 hours.

Studio Ghibli announced that Nishi (West) Ghibli will be established in a part of the building housing the main office of Toyota.

Filmjerk (via IMDB) is reporting that Ponyo will open on over 750 screens in the "Second Quarter 2009".
