Goro Miyazaki to Direct Next Ghibli Feature

AnimeNewsNetwork is reporting that the new film based on the Kokuriko-Zaka Kara manga and helmed by Goro Miyazaki will open in theaters during the summer of 2011.

Madman picks up Arrietty for AU, Death of Tsutomu Iida

• Madman Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Arrietty for theatrical release in 2011.

• The assistant director on Laputa, Tsutomu Iida, has died at age 49 of lung cancer. Iida also directed Hellsing, CB Chara Nagai Go World and Gundam 08 under the name Umanosuke Iida. CDJapan reports that "The funeral was organized by Miyazaki Hayao and Nagai Go".
