Note: This catalog was published for Kazuo Oga’s background art exhibition that was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT) from 21 July to 30 September 2007. The book contains reproductions of all 600+ pieces of artwork that were on display at the exhibition and is the most comprehensive collection of Kazuo Oga’s artwork published to date. Originally, this catalog was available for sale only at the museum, but copies can still be found on-line.
If you find one, the catalog is a great companion piece to the NTV documentary video about the exhibition (available from Japan on R2 DVD and Blu-ray) entitled A Ghibli Artisan - Kazuo Oga Exhibition - The One Who Painted Totoro's Forest (ジブリの絵職人 男鹿和雄展 トトロの森を描いた人 Jiburi no Eshokunin - Oga Kazuo Ten - Totoro no Mori o Kaita Hito?).
