Kazuo Oga All about the director |
Nights of Taneyamagahara (種山ヶ原の夜 Taneyamagahara no Yoru?) is the first anime short film directed by Ghibli background artist Kazuo Oga. The film is a lyrical adaptation of a 1924 play written by poet and author Kenji Miyazawa.
A DVD was released by Studio Ghibli in Japan on 7 July 2006, in celebration of would have been Miyazawa's 110th birthday. The DVD is a companion to the DVD re-release of another animated adaptation of a Miyazawa story, Gauche the Cellist.
