Goro Miyazaki All about the director |
Ronia the Robber's Daughter (山賊の娘ローニャ Sanzoku no Musume Roonya?), is a TV series currently in production to begin airing in October 2014 on NHK and BS Premium in Japan. It is a collaboration between Studio Ghibli and Polygon Pictures, the studio they previously worked with in 2004 to produce Ghost in the Shell 2 - Innocence. The 3D CG production is being directed by Goro Miyazaki and is an adaptation of Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's 1981 fantasy book for children, Ronia the Robber's Daughter.
Ronia is the first TV series to be directed by Goro Miyazaki, with production cooperation by Studio Ghibli. The story revolves around Ronia, the daughter of the chief of a tribe of bandits who live in a large castle in a forest.
